Brides the Show: the must-attend bridal show in London

Throwback October.. There are lots of bridal shows in London, so which one must you attend?

Back in October, I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Conde Nast Brides Magazine Brides the Show in Islington. If you were unable to attend it, that’s absolutely fine: you can re-live the best moments thanks to Audrey Ametis Weddings:

Brides the Show was held at the Islington Business Design Centre. This centre is big enough to have a substantial list of exhibitors and yet it is not huge (so you will not feel like attending a “masse wedding fair”; that’s important to me and to my brides).

It was a three-day event. It started Friday night with a luxury catwalk. The extraordinary Amie Bone and her team created a tunnel of dark red flowers, a tunnel of love. The dresses were superb and the theme was Paris in Love. I really liked the creations from Eliza Jane Howell. Have you attended the catwalk? Feel free to contact me. Saturday and Sunday I visited various stands. I spent some time with my friend the extremely talented Elizabeth at Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium. There was a chandelier in two of her cakes. How sublime! Elizabeth participated to a second stand with a Marie-Antoinette theme; amazing prices (amongst them a bridal gown, a trip to Dubai!) were won and proceeds went to the charity foundation: Make a wish. How thoughtful.

One of the highlights of the show was the interview with Giles Deacon, fashion British designer, well known in 2017 for being Pippa Middleton’s wedding dress designer, conducted by Jade Beer, editor of Brides (I cannot wait reading Jade’s book The Summer Wedding). The dresses in the Bohemian English Garden Party were out of this world.

Overall, I found Brides the Show to be an extremely well organised bridal show, full of ideas for your wedding. Highly recommended.
